The University of Winnipeg Global College fosters global citizenship and engagement in human rights through interdisciplinary teaching, research, dialogue, and action in local and global communities.

Global College provides students, faculty, staff, visiting scholars, and community leaders with ways to interact on their diverse perspectives, within a human rights framework, on challenges and opportunities  –  local and global.

Global College is an interdisciplinary collaborative academic program at The U of Winnipeg that is home to:

  • BA in Human Rights (Major and Minor)
  • MA in Peace and Conflict Studies (Joint program with the University of Manitoba)

Global College hosts research and public education institutes, including:

  • Institute for International Women’s Rights – Global College
  • The Ridd Institute for Religion and Global Policy, directed by Prof. James Christie; j.christie@uwinnipeg.ca

Global College is a doorway to the community and the world. Each year we partner with other universities, community and NGO partners to host or co-sponsor special lectures, conferences, workshops, or advocacy initiatives related to our mandate of teaching research and action on human rights.
